How to make 5V DC power Supply

Hi friends.You can make a 5V DC power supply for urself
Here is the Circuit Diagram



Parts List:
1.Transformer whose output is 12V or 9V RMS

2.4 Diode 1N4007 or 1N4001 series



3.Capacitors
470uF (Electrolytic),two 0.01uF (Ceramic).




Electrolytic is cylindrical shaped whereas ceramic is flat surfaced.

4.Voltage Regulator IC 7805
Connect the components as shown in the diagram.
For IC 7805,pin 1 is for input,pin 2 is for ground and the 3rd pin is the output.
Ur DC power supply is ready.

If u don't want to use voltage regulator IC 7805,then u can also use ZENER Diode 1N4734A for low power applications.
Sorry i wasn't able to get my circuit diagram from circuit maker software bcoz converting it into jpg file, i was getting a bad pic.
So i had take the circuit 4m net.

    Can you plz tell me why we using 3 capacitors if capacitor is for charge store then one capacitor would be enough
